DCSW is a 501-c-3 private, non-profit charitable organization providing services to the physically and developmentally
disabled of Doniphan County.
DCSW provides the following services to the developmentally disabled:
- Case Management
Case managers of the consumer's choice provide advocacy, assessment, coordination and referral to address any needs of the Consumer.
- Residential Services
Supportive home care for infants, children and transition age students with disabilities. Semi-independent living providing in-home support on an
as needed, case by case basis. Respite, planned, temporary, overnight or emergency, to allow family members a break from a disabled family member's care.
- Life Skills
Training in a wide array of areas including housekeeping, laundry, budgeting, health and safety, interpersonal relationships and sexuality.
- Supported Employment Services
Assistance with job development, hiring, retention and follow-up in competitive community employment.
- Vocational Skillls Training
Training in wood production, finishing and marketing
- Work Activity Center
Pre-Vocational assessment and training including in-house piece rate production contracts to allow consumers to strengthen their vocational
skills in a secure environment
- Transportation Services
Provide handicapped accessible vehicles for transporting consumers to work, doctor's visits, shopping and recreational activities
DCSW is funded in part through Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) Waiver funding through the Health Care Poicy (HCP) Community
Supports and Services (CSS) of Social and Rehabilitation Services (SRS) of the State of Kansas, County Mill Levy and community support.
